Our leadership

 

Norma Blackwell, Executive Director, joined CASA of Central Texas, Inc. in August 2003. Prior to joining CASA, she was the Executive Director for Holding Institute, an organization that provides educational services to students on the U.S.-Mexico border. Her background includes experience as an adjunct faculty member at Laredo Community College where she was responsible for teaching leadership, self-esteem and pre-employment skills to teens. In addition, she was the VINES coordinator for S.C.A.N.’s victim assistance program as well as a classroom science and social studies teacher. She was a case manager for Communities in Schools and a marketing representative for the International Bank of Commerce in Laredo. She also served for a year and a half as a CASA volunteer in Webb County. She holds an Associate degree in Business as well as a Bachelor degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology.
